In late 1979 a letter was published in some of the national motorcycling magazines asking if anyone was interested in getting together with other Christians who were motorcyclists.

The response was so great that a club was formed called the Christian Bikers' Association (CBA). During 1982 contacts were made with the CMA in South Africa and the USA. On the 1st of January 1983 the CBA was renamed the Christian Motorcyclists' Association UK, or CMA (UK) for short.

We are part of CMA International and have formed close links with Christian Motorcyclists' clubs throughout the UK and Europe to help and encourage each other in sharing the Gospel.

In 1996 the CMA in conjunction with the Bible Society published 5000 copies of the "Manual for Life", a New Testament in the very easy to read Contemporary English Version. The Manual also contains a section on where to find advice in the Bible on a range of subjects, a group of testimonies from members and ex-members, and some contact cards. On top of all of this it also has a rather attractive cover! (Click on the image for the full sized version).

On the 26th of May 2000 the Christian Motorcyclists' Association UK became UK registered charity No 1080911.

In 2005 the CMA and the Bible Society published a second print run of 4000 copies of the "Manual for Life", with updated testimonies.

In June 2007 the new "Biker Bible" was launched at the Centenary Isle of Man TT, and on that day alone 393 bibles were taken. Between then and January 2008, eight and a half thousand were requested via shows, rallies, personal conversations etc.

The CMA raised £18,000 and printed 10,000 copies in the first run. Now, having raised a further £18,000, another 10,000 copies have been printed and are available as of May 2008. Each bible contains 24 testimonies in full colour graphics of men and women from the European Biker World (10,000 other copies have been distributed throughout Europe), the new testament is the Contemporary English Version (like the "Manual for Life").

The feedback has been superb and opened up new avenues of reaching Bikers in the UK and their families with the Love of God. We are eager for people to sponsor the printing of a Biker Bible at a cost of £2.00 per copy.
