Each year the Rest of Scotland branch organises a sponsored motorcycle ride around Scotland to raise funds for a Christian charity.
In 2008 the run was in aid of the Scottish Bible Society's 'Congo' Appeal.
During 2009 we raised over £2000 for the bible society again, this time for their "Bibles and Bandages for Brazil Appeal". This was the 20th anniversary of our first sponsored run, which was for the then National Bible Society of Scotland.
In 2010 we raised money for MAF (Mission Aviation Fellowship), a Christian organisation whose mission is to operate light aircraft in remote places in the world where flying is not a luxury, but a real lifeline. You can still make a donation to MAF via our donation web page, click here to donate.
During 2011 our sponsored run raised money for the Barnabas Fund. Click here to find our more about their work with the persecuted church.
This year's sponsored run takes place over the weekend 31 August - 3 September and is in aid of Children's Vision International and our theme is railways as our run will terminate at the transport museum in Alford, for the Grampian Motorcycle convention on 2 September. Click here to find out more about their work with abandoned and abused children.
Below is a photograph of the multi-purpose vehicle purchased by the Scottish Bible Society following their appeal in 2009.
