Chris is organising this run so please be punctual! 09:30 start from Under the Sun cafe in Kelso. Chris is going to take us for a fun run around the Border roads. To begin with Chris will be leading us east and north. Possibly, over the hills where GPS, torch and sonar set would be the preferred kit, if last year's experience of low cloud is anything to go by. You will be reward by a chance to buy fish and chips in Seahouses at about 13:00. The afternoon should be occupied by continuing the run to Wooler and home again. All forms of transport welcome not just PTWs.

Last year we concentrated on the Highway Code and stopping distances were measured from the coffee machine. After the quiz a number of books are to be selected to form the basis of the book club night in January.

2009

* January
14th
At Under the Sun cafe, Kelso at 20:00. As an experiment we are trying a book club style evening. After the main activity in our December meeting a number of books were selected for everyone to read. These tomes are now discussed. Motorcycle adventure books are an obvious genre, kind or sort. Does the Branch appear to be trying for a change of image in 2009 and will this be welcome?
* February
11th
At Under the Sun cafe, Kelso at 20:00. An evening of film entertainment. This evening we are planning either 'The Ride' or 'Mondo Enduro'. These motorcycle adventure films are fine examples of organised and self-inflicted journeys respectively. Tea, coffee and snacks guaranteed.
21st to the 22nd
Leaders' Meeting on Saturday and CMA participation in the church service on Sunday at North Camp Methodist Church, 45 Lynchford Rd., Farnborough, Hampshire GU14 6NB.
* March
10th
At Under the Sun cafe, Kelso at 20:00. Please note that this date is for a TUESDAY, not our normal Wednesday. An evening of education and information from a professional rider. Eric Brown has promised an evening of open discussion rather than a straight presentation. There will be loads of time for your own questions and points of view. We hope to touch on group riding, cornering styles (roadcraft against speeding/racing lines) riding techiques and 'staying alive', without mentioning the Bee Gees. Please come along to learn and contribute. If you have recently chatted with Eric, in a professional context, then please bring with you the constructive elements of that discussion!
* July
